Junior Hill graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and later received his Master of Divinity degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana. For over eleven years he served as pastor of Southern Baptist Churches in Alabama and Mississippi. In July of 1967 he entered full-time evangelism and has conducted over 1400 revivals across the United States and abroad. In addition to his revival meetings he is a frequent speaker at state and national evangelism conferences and conventions.
He is the author of the following books:

In 1989 he was elected First Vice-president of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 1995 he was recognized as the Alumnus Of The Year by the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2000 he was awarded the Doctor of Divinity degree by Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
He and his wife, Carole, presently make their home in Hartselle, Alabama, and the; are the parents of a son Mark, and a daughter, Melanie.
