Sad Christmas

In the busy activities of Christmas, it is unfortunate that many people miss the real meaning of the season. In so doing, they end up with a sad Christmas.

A story I read at some point in the past serves a reminder of this truth. There was a mom who had been so busy during December that she was forced to rush from store to store to purchase last minute gifts for family and friends. In her haste, she forgot about her very young son. She went back down the street in an attempt to find him. See saw him in front of a store with his face up against a frosty window. He was staring at a Manger Scene. The mother grabbed him and said, "Stay with me, can't you see that I am in a hurry." The little boy exclaimed, "Look mom, it is the Baby Jesus!" The frustrated mother said, "Come on, son, we don't have time for that nonsense. Can't you see that I am trying to get ready for Christmas?"

Sad indeed.
